KUWAIT CITY - Several Islamist MPs in Kuwait have called for a total boycott of Denmark where newspapers reprinted a controversial cartoon deemed offensive to the Prophet Mohammed.
'We must impose a total political and economic boycott of Denmark,' said MP Waleed al-Tabtabai, who branded the Danish government as 'sons of a dog' during a parliamentary session.
The government protested and demanded the 'improper phrase' to be deleted from the parliamentary minutes.
The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas also condemned Danish newspapers which reprinted a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed, calling for those responsible to be put on trial.
'We call for the trial of those responsible for publishing these drawings in the Danish newspapers,' Hamas said, demanding that 'official apologies be made' to Muslims (...)(...more)
