Three Israelis have been killed after a rocket fired from Gaza hit a building in the south of the country, according to police. The casualties were the first since Israel attacked targets in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, killing Hamas' top military commander.
Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the rocket struck an apartment building in the town of Kiryat Malahi.
World leaders have urged Israel to show restraint after prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to "expand" military operations in Gaza following the killing of Ahmed al Jaabari. (continue reading...)(...more)
